Back to work. My first job in over 6 months and i absolutely hate it. I took the first thing that was offered to me which turned out to be 5am starts, 11 hour days, 6 days a week. Unlucky. Best part, I'm doing salad prep. This involves coring, cutting and grading salad. I have a massive machette to slam them with and cut proof gloves, which have already saved my fingers a number of times. The people are as bro as you can get but they're pretty crack up and nice too. I must say, I do admire some of them for the amount of pride they take in their work, however it's hard not to be thinking 'i hope i'm not like you' all day long. Its a miserable, loud, and freezing place to work as your in the chiller all day sitting at 4 degrees Celsius. Lets not complain about too much though because this shit job which i hated on the first day gave me an incredible amount of motivation to find a new job. So i emailed Geoff at Taupo Tandem Skydive, to see if there was any vacancies coming. And soon enough, he called me back saying they were looking for a new packer. I called in sick on my 5th day at leader brand and was up in Taupo the next day. By Sunday I had secured myself a job and they welcomed me to the team.
Its been a long time coming. 18 months to be exact. But I'm finally home. I really can't believe how many good friends i've made since being gone; the amount of places i've seen; and meanwhile, how little Gissy has changed.
